Glad to see the Forum back up and "running". Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Looking forward to a bunch of PR's this year? Me too.

Hi Martin. Happy Christmas to you too and thanks for registering on the Forum.

We had some difficulties with spam and junk posting in December, but hopefully the bulk of those problems are behind us.

Good luck with your goals for 2007 and a Happy New Year to you!

Safe & happy miles,

Steve

Steve,

Is there anyway to make new forum members wait until you approve their membership? It appears with the addition of the new "bogus" members--I have a received a few more spam e-mails. It is not fair that folks abuse a good thing.

I am considering hiding my e-mail address, which will limit interaction with Strider members I meet during my walks/runs. This is the one reason I enjoy the club so much.

Hi Kathy,

Believe it or not, that's how the Forum is currently configured. Every new member should remain inactive until I approve their membership. Somehow, new users are beating the system and being allowed to post without having their membership approved.

I try hard to catch all the bogus sign-ups, fake posts and other computer generated junk, but it can be a never ending task.

Just a little

Actually, I installed a couple more "security patches" last night. This morning was the first time for ages there were no bogus signups or junk posts. I wonder how long that will last??

Keep on posting and keep on running!
